Use your words

Luke 8:22

Jesus Stills the Sea

22Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat,

and He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.”

So they launched out. 23But as they were sailing along He fell

asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they

began to be swamped and to be in danger. 24They came to Jesus and

woke Him up, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He

got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they

stopped, and it became calm. 25And He said to them, “Where is

your faith?” They were fearful and amazed, saying to one another,

“Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water,

and they obey Him?”

Jesus said… lets go to the other side

Disciples said, “ we are perishing”

Jesus said, where is your faith

Use your words..

Power of your Confession – Words

1. Believe in who jesus is…

Not mental consent….. But deep conviction…

Your core value… Your mode of operation…. iOS -internal

operating system

Follow his model… His example

Rom 4:17 (as it is written, “A father of many nations have I

made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even

God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that

which does not exist.

Kjv… and calleth those things which be not as though they

were.”

Calls as they were. (Past tense). Not are.. Not will be …

But were

God calls those things that be not ( in the natural) as though

they

2. Believe in his word

Hebrew 4:12. “For the word of God is living and active and

sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as

the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow,

and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Ampl. “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of

power [making it active, operative, energizing, and

effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword,

penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul)

and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the

deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and

analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the

heart.”

Proverbs 4:20-22 NASB

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my

sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them

in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who

find them And health to all their body.”

Eph 6:17-18 “And take THE sword of the Spirit, which is

the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all

times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert

with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,”

John 15:7….“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,

ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

3. Believe in you.. who God made you to be

His ambassador… His representative… His child…

Rom 8:18-21

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are

not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be

revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits

eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation

was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him

who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be

set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of

the glory of the children of God.”

How do you … “Use your words “

1. Speak to your mountain

Mark 11:23 NASB

“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken

up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart,

but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be

granted him.”

2. Speak to resist the devil…

Matthew 4:1-4, 6-11

“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to

be tempted by the devil. And after He had fasted forty days

and forty nights, He then became hungry. And the tempter

came and said to Him,

“If You are the Son of God, command that these stones

become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘M

AN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD

THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF G OD.'”

and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself

down; for it is written, ‘H E WILL COMMAND H IS ANGELS

CONCERNING Y OU ‘; and ‘O N their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR Y

OU UP, S O THAT Y OU WILL NOT STRIKE Y OUR FOOT

AGAINST A STONE.'” Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it

is written, ‘Y OU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR G OD TO

THE TEST.'” Again, the devil took Him to a very high

mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and

their glory; and he said to Him, “All these things I will give

You, if You fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to

him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘Y OU SHALL WORSHIP THE

LORD YOUR G OD, AND SERVE H IM ONLY.'” Then the devil left

Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to

Him.”

Overcome the devil by your words…

Rev. 12:11….. “Now the salvation, and the power, and the

kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have

come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown

down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.

11And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb

and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not

love their life even when faced with death.

3. Guard your heart and your words

Prov. 4:22. “Watch over your heart with all diligence, For

from it flow the springs of life.”

Jesus… From the abundance of your heart your mouth will

speak,,,

James 3: 2-4, 9-12

“For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not

stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle

the whole body as well.

Now if we put the bits into the horses’ mouths so that they

will obey us, we direct their entire body as well. Look at the

ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong

winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the

inclination of the pilot desires.

Vs. 9. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we

curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God;

from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing.

My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. Does a

fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and

bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or

a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.”

4. Release your Ambassador authority

2 cor. 5:20 “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as

though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you

on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

Matt 16: 18-19. “I also say to you that you are Peter, and

upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades

will not overpower it.

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven;

and whatever you bind on earth shall be what is already

bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth what is

already loosed in heaven.””

Close;

Col. 1:26-27. “that is, the mystery which has been hidden

from the past ages and generations, but has now been

manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known

what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the

Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

It’s your time,,,

You were born for such a time as this….

Awaken yourself… Arise to the occasion

Use your words…

1. To form your life

2. To resist the devil and his works

3. To bind and lose that which has already been bound and

loosed

4. To do the works of Jesus… Destroy the works of the devil

and to demo and expend the kingdom

5. Arise as the sons of God… Take your place of

significance and authority
